Since 2011, Koen Geens has been Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors at BNP Paribas Fortis. He succeeds Steven Vanackere as Finance Minister.
Koen Geens has a doctorate in law and has studied at the KU Leuven and Harvard. He is a professor of corporate law at the KU Leuven. Additionally, he is a partner at Eubelius, one of the largest law firms in Belgium.
From mid-2007 until February 2009, Geens worked as Chief of Staff for Flemish Minister President Kris Peeters. Since June 2011, he was Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors at BNP Paribas Fortis.
